New Jersey native Greg Boxer recently resigned from Goldman Sachs in Manhattan to join American Energy Partners — the Oklahoma City-based oil and natural gas operating and asset management company started last year by Aubrey McClendon.
Boxer said he couldn’t have received a more generous welcome in his move from the East Coast here in August.
“Everyone went way above the call of duty to make me feel like Oklahoma City was home,” he said. “It was remarkable.”
A colleague in his department had Boxer over for dinner. A senior vice president invited him to play golf. Even McClendon arranged a dinner at a local fine restaurant when Boxer’s parents came to visit their son in his new condominium in the historic Deep Deuce neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Boxer said the company’s on-site, 24-hour gym at 301 NW 63 and rowing, soccer and other sports teams provided perfect social outlets to bring him and other employees together.Read more
