Shell Buys Hotel Property in Beaver County, PA

Royal Dutch Shell LogoRoyal Dutch Shell bought the former Kubuta Hotel in Beaver County, PA adding to its real estate holdings in the Marcellus Shale.

The Pittsburgh Business Times reports, the hotel sits by the new construction of an ethane cracker plant. Though, Shell has not confirmed if development will continue on the plant, the company continues to purchase property in the area.

“Shell continues to evaluate the proposed project and is taking the necessary steps to prepare for potential construction in the event a decision to build the project is made. We can confirm the purchase of property near the proposed site. If the project moves forward, this property could be developed into a parking area for use during a potential construction phase,” said a spokeswoman for the company.
