API Says Obama Should Approve Keystone XL Before Year’s End

The American Petroleum Institute is calling on President Barack Obama to “give America’s construction workers a Christmas gift” by approving the Keystone XL pipeline before Republicans take control of both houses of Congress next year.

“Six years of review and five positive environmental assessments from the state department are enough,” said Jack Gerard, API president and CEO. “We’re calling on President Obama to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. There’s more than enough evidence to move ahead immediately without waiting further for Congress to vote yet again in the new year when congressional support for Keystone XL will be even stronger.”
